| 1. You ask me to explain us; As if the concept of us is brand new. When in reality we’ve been around forever; Selling to kings, peasants, sinners, saints, and men just like you. We walk around like Gods, We are untouchable and everyone knows, We wear our skirts and suits like armor, And live behind a shield of acid and blow. We use diamond studded syringes; The pain is half the thrill. Danger is our way of life, The rush comes from the pills. We never get too close to anyone, None of us can ever be burned or touched. The candy we sell will enslave you. Then we’ll keep you under an iron thumb. 2. You want to know how we’re identified; Well take a good look at me and how I dress. Our eyes are always glassy, And our conversations are always laced in threats. Our cars are all expensive, Every outfit we wear must match, And every purse or jacket has a secret pocket; Where we hide our personal stash. 3. Now you ask about our relationships, But all we really have is casual sex. Because kisses from these lips are a noose; If you risk it you’ll hang yourself from them by your own neck. Of course we do care crazily for one thing, We’re all devoted and married to our drugs. Each of us lives for our own poison, They’re the only things we honestly love.
II 4. So now you ask about our lives- This is the best question yet. We are perfect to our customers; Though they know we’re selling death. We’re all pretty and we’re in style, We dress and act like we’re rock stars; But in reality we’re composed of rocks and 8-balls. The drugs make us who we are. Never falter and never fumble, Never wrinkle or grow old. I have become an ice queen, With an ice palace and an ice throne. 5. You want to know who I am. Well I’m a career deceiver with lies coated in gold. I’m a pharmacist and a druggie. I’m your devil and I’ll steal your soul. So now let me ask you something. After that- now look at me. Now that you know the truth about us, Look in these eyes and tell me what you see. 6. You look at me and smile. You say, “I’m looking at a lie, I see a dealer who seems like just another pretty girl. Every inch of you is fake and your eyes tell me that you’re high. Those eyes have me captured. I’m still entirely caught up on you. You know how to pull off being the living picture of glamour. But you’ve managed to make the drugs look Glamorous too.”

| There's nothing left to love And there's no air left to breathe There's nothing left to feel And no words left to scream Not even a goodbye is appropriate Silence Fits this time of my walking away I didn't understand at first How we'd succumbed to slow decay But I know who I am now Without you I've become strong You expected me to lay down and die But heart break can only kill us for so long Now I'm not looking back I'm giving you the same harsh reality you gave me I'm not giving you any second chances My new found wings have set me free I'm over what we were Because I don't hold on to lies Don't convince yourself I'm in denial I have nothing left to deny You're the one who broke promises And it is you who has to pay From here on out I forget that you existed And until the day I die I'll remember you only as a game I'm sorry to say that I do not miss you But I'm sorrier yet that I don't love you at all anymore Though I don't know why I'm still apologizing to you When you're the one with things to apologize for

| I submerge myself in crystal water The liquid perfectly fresh and cool Much like your stable arms Your touch is so familiar yet so new This is not the first time I've been here I have felt this sort of ecstasy before The fresh scent of the water intoxicates me just like you It leaves me dying for just one breath more Your eyes dance as lively as the waves I drown in those orbs of liquid blue Those eyes of yours put the midnight Vegas lights to shame The looks they give are love with living proof

| Drugs are not drugs in this world of mine
Rather they are a crutch for when you feel weak
My dealer is not merely a dealer
But a witch doctor that helps the lot of us sleep
These tattoos are not just ink on my skin
My artist is not only a tattoo artist in a shop
These tattoos are a book of memories and our skin an album
The artist is our teacher helping us deal with the pain until it stops
Please visit this world so different from yours
But refrain from the urge to stop and stare
This different view of life has done us plenty good
In a world full of people who don't want to go anywhere
People expect us to fail
They could never imagine we would ever rise up
We are laying in the waste but looking to the stars
No one was ever hurt by wishing nor wanting too much | | |
| Life has taught me many lessons About the endurance of mankind I've learned a lot about the will to live And all should keep these things in mind Even when your lungs are shallow and burnt They will not just abandon their steady breathing And even if a heart is shattered and pieces are missing It will never just give up and cease its beating One may ruin, scar, and beat down a soul But no one can just extinguish the spark of life For even though one may be too tired to struggle There is no instinct that will allow you to simply lie down and die Your body may be weary and near to the point of collapse But your steady pulse will keep in tune At night you may feel defeated and worn But sleep will refresh your body and have you alert again by noon Even when your muscles ache Your legs will not just give out And though your mind is strung with pessimism and fear Hope will always cast away the ghosts of doubt When your hands are aching, bleeding, and sore They still carry the strength to wash away the stains Measure not your fellow man by his weaknesses or words But measure him wholly by how he manages his troubles and deals with his pain Seek not a path well worn and simple Seek a road on which you do not know what you'll find Never bring to the table out dated news Instead bring original tales and rhymes When you turn to a man hoping he will be your savior And you find that you are alone Look not for someone new to rescue you For you have the strength to save yourself on your own Love may leave you hurt and hollow But as I've said, a broken heart does still beat Remember that you are strong enough to live And are always capable of standing on your own two feet Life has taught me all of these lessons Though some I only truly embraced as of late But the grandest lesson I have learned is this; The Gods of Old will never betray your faith
